Your role as an Accountant
In this role, you will handle both day-to-day accounting operations and contribute strategically to our finance function. This includes general accounting, monthly reconciliations, tax reporting, and audit support. The role offers growth potential, with opportunities to take on more analytical tasks, including financial analysis, budgeting, and consolidated financial statements. You’ll also work alongside our current Accountant, who is transitioning into retirement, allowing for a smooth transition and a solid foundation for success from day one.
The Finance team in Sweden, located at the HQ in Uppsala consists of our CFO, our Financial Controller and our Accountant with a close collaboration with Legal, HR and IT. For our subsidiaries in Denmark, Germany China we have local finance teams who reports to HQ. Key responsibilities
- Oversee ongoing accounting for Dirac Sweden, including responsibility for monthly closure, general ledger accuracy, and customer and supplier account management, such as invoicing, payment reminders, and tracking
- Act as the payroll point of contact for teams in Sweden, Denmark, and Germany, collaborating closely with external payroll partners in each country
- Manage tax-related tasks, including VAT reporting, social security contributions, and pension administration
- Collaborate with finance teams in subsidiaries to ensure consistent practices and compliance across locations
- Administer and follow up on tasks in our Project Management System to support accurate project tracking
- Serve as backup for the main telephone switchboard
- Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes for increased efficiency and regulatory compliance
Who you are
You’re an organized, detail-oriented accounting professional with a solid understanding of accounting principles and a proactive approach to solving challenges. You enjoy both independent and collaborative work, and you’re confident in questioning processes and seeking clarity to ensure accuracy.
- Relevant educational background
- Solid background in accounting
- Experience with payroll management
- Experience working with Swedish tax laws and regulations
- Strong communication skills in English and Swedish (English is our company language)
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Preferred qualifications but not required
- Experience with financial reporting in international companies
- Experience of Visma NET
- Experience with financial reporting according to IFRS
Start Date
We would ideally like you to join shortly after the new year, but we’re open to discussing a timeline that works best to bring the right person on board.
Location
Your main location will be at Dirac’s headquarters in central Uppsala, but we also offer the opportunity to embrace a hybrid work format.
